Mason Mount full of praise for Manchester United’s ‘amazing’ change this year, “It’s really important…”

Mason Mount has explained how Manchester United’s revamped training facility at Carrington is positively impacting Ruben Amorim’s team, both on and off the pitch.
Back in August, Manchester United revealed their £50 million redevelopment of their Carrington training complex ahead of the 2025/26 season. The long-awaited update put United’s training ground back amongst the best in the country, with the club hoping it will be the base for building a successful team in the future.
After 14 matches, United have 22 points to their name and face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night at the Molineux Stadium. Since the start of the season, the Reds have continued their inconsistent form under Ruben Amorim. Although there has been signs of improvement, performances have been underwhelming in recent weeks and pressure is building on the manager.
There have been a few shining lights this season however, including new signings Bryan Mbuemo and Senne Lammens. But, it seems as though one of Amorim’s most trusted players is Mason Mount. The Englishmen has had a difficult United career as of yet, struggling with injuries, but this season he has shown glimpses of the player he once was when he was starring for Chelsea and England.
Last week, Mount got himself on the scoresheet to earn United a victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after Joshua Zirkzee levelled things up. During the week, a draw at home to West Ham brought the mood back down to disappointment, but United will be hoping to get back to winning ways as they prepare to face strugglers Wolves next.
Mount impressed by new Carrington complex
The new Carrington complex has provided players with a modern environment to improve performance and their bond as teammates. The renovation comes as a huge upgrade that was much needed. It was clear that the facility wasn’t at the level required when Cristiano Ronaldo publicly criticised it in an interview with Piers Morgan back in 2022.
Mason Mount recently spoke to the club media about the impact the improved complex has had on the team. He said, “the training ground is amazing now.
“It’s got to the point where you don’t want to leave, you want to stay here, do a bit of recovery and everything like that. It’s really important for us as a club, but you can feel the morale within the building, it’s improving, for sure.
“Spending a lot of time together at the training ground matters, for sure, because the more time you spend together, the more you learn about each other and bond as a group. I think you can see that on the pitch when times have been tough, we’ve reacted positively. The Forest game, we went 2-1 down after half-time, and we got back to 2-2 to draw the game.”
The team has displayed this resilience at times this season, with comebacks against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur to salvage draws at tough away grounds.
However, it is clear that inconsistency from recent seasons has carried over to this one, and performances have been flat at times. In particular, the last three games have led to a negative mood around the club because of a lack of identity and connection to the team.
Are United moving in the right direction?
As of now, United have scored a total of 22 points in their first 14 league games this season. This is an improvement of just three points from the same stage last season, which ended as United’s lowest ever points total in the Premier League.
Although the midfield was neglected in the summer, four signings were added to Ruben Amorim’s team, all of which have shown promising glimpses throughout their first few months. Despite flashes of improvement, the team has still shown similar habits from the past and have left some fans wondering whether they are on the right track.

As they approach a busy winter period, the Reds have accumulated four points in their last three outings. A defeat to ten-man Everton angered many but a win at Selhurst Park suggested the team had just experienced a minor slip up. But the 1-1 draw to West Ham on Thursday led to re-emerging doubts over the manager and his team, and these will surely continue if United fail to beat a winless Wolves on Monday.
We are now 12 months into Ruben Amorim’s tenure and now questions are being raised. If performances don’t improve, the club could be forced to make a tough decision, even though Utd are currently still fully backing their man. To ease the pressure slightly, Amorim will hope a victory over Wolves can kick-start a good run of form to give the team the best chance of having a successful season.
