Pete Wicks has admitted his dislike for Christmas as he opened up about his plans for the festive season. The 37-year-old reality star admits that he has little interest in the festive season and would rather “hibernate” through December.

Pete told Heat magazine: “If I could hibernate from the first of December until 1 January, I would. So, other than dogs, nothing will get me in the Christmas spirit.”

The former The Only Way Is Essex star explained that he will be spending Christmas alone with his beloved rescue dog Eric. He said: “I imagine I’ll sit on my own with Eric and have a Pot Noodle. It’s been a heavy year, so I might go away for Christmas. But I normally spend it on my own with the dogs.”

Pete even revealed that he will turn down his annual Christmas invite from his best pal Sam Thompson. The reality star said: “Every year, he invites me to his, and his mum invites me, too. They think I’m Tiny Tim, like a little orphan. What they don’t realise is that I choose to spend Christmas on my own.”

A festive special of Pete’s U+W series For Dogs’ Sake will air on Monday (December 8) and he found it uncomfortable wearing Christmas jumpers while filming in the August heat.

Meanwhile, Pete has revealed that he is striving to find more time for himself in 2026. Asked about New Year’s resolutions, he said: “I hate it when people do, because normally, by January the third, they’re the same p**** they were the year before.

“I’ve got some bad habits I need to break – like smoking. I would like to try to knock that on the head – but I say that every year, and it hasn’t worked so far. But other than that, I’d like to find a little bit more time for myself.”

Pete explained that his main priorities for next year are to make another series of For Dogs’ Sake and work on more projects with his Staying Relevant podcast co-host Sam Thompson.

He said: “We need to see if For Dogs’ Sake is coming back. That’s my number one priority. If I get an opportunity to do this again, then I’ll be over the moon. Sam and I have got some very exciting things happening, too. We may go back on tour.”
