Coronation Street reveals who Maggie Driscoll killed in dramatic flashback scene

Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has finally revealed the truth about Maggie Driscoll’s dark past after confirming who she killed during a dramatic flashback scene. The special episode gave viewers an idea of what Maggie is capable of, while also revealing that a witness was present at the murder.
During tonight’s episode (8 December), which saw Maggie (Pauline McLynn) celebrating her 65th birthday, fans were treated to some flashback scenes that explained how the Driscoll family matriarch became the person she is today.
Viewers know that Maggie and her daughter-in-law Eva Price don’t really get along, with Eva making her dislike of Maggie quite clear, and with the feelings seemingly mutual.
As Maggie prepared for her birthday celebration in the Rovers, tensions flared between Maggie and Eva, who clashed over their family.
In the first flashback of the episode, young Maggie was seen receiving presents on her birthday. After she gave her sons Ben and Finlay a games console, her husband Alan questioned where she had found the money for it.

Things became tense between the pair, as Maggie angrily said: “Do not tell me how to raise my boys.”
In another scene, Maggie and Alan continued to clash, with Maggie saying Ben’s dad should’ve encouraged him to do better at a rugby game he lost.
As they raised their voices at each other, Maggie went to hit her husband, who held back her hand to stop her. Ben then walked in and thought his dad was hurting his mum.
Maggie lied to her son, telling him that his dad was the one who wanted him to do better at rugby, saying: “You know how seriously your dad takes his rugby, son? It’s a bit too much sometimes.”

Later, as present-day Maggie celebrated with cake and candles, the same event was happening in the past. She taunted her husband about wanting to take the boys to the park, calling him “the last of the big spenders”.
The final flashback scene showed a row between Maggie and her husband in which it was revealed that Maggie had previously had an affair. “Maybe that’s why he didn’t want you. Saw you for the controlling, manipulative cow you really are,” he said.
Following the row, Maggie killed her husband by pushing him down the stairs. The incident was witnessed by their youngest child, Finlay, who is yet to appear in the present day. Their son then quietly ran back to his bed.
After tonight’s reveal, does Eva need to watch her back?
