Samsung’s Qi2 ‘Magnet Wireless Battery Pack’ leaks, fixes a Galaxy phone problem

It continues to be clear that Samsung is fully introducing Qi2 on the Galaxy S26 series, with a new “Magnet Wireless Battery Pack” surfacing on a certification page.

To quickly recap what we’ve learned thus far, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is expected to finally add Qi2 magnets to the actual phone, rather than offloading that to the case as the Galaxy S25 series opted to do. Samsung is also expected to adopt the faster Qi 2.2 standard here, with 25W speeds on the Galaxy S26 Ultra and 20W charging on the lesser models. A Samsung charging stand with Qi2 25W recently surfaced too.

Now, the Wireless Power Consortium’s database has leaked another Qi2 accessory from Samsung, a battery pack.

The Samsung “Magnet Wireless Battery Pack” looks simple enough at a glance, with a magnetic ring and a Qi2 mark on the back. The product is listed with Qi 2.1.0 support and 15W output, meaning this won’t be able to hit full speeds, even if that usually only lasts a few minutes.

What’s notable here is the design.

The battery itself has a standard rectangular design, but the magnetic portion is extended behind that, effectively eliminating a portion of the “bottom” of the design. This is necessary because Samsung’s smartphone design puts the camera module very close to the wireless charging coil, meaning some Qi2 accessories don’t sit flush. It’s a problem Samsung needs to fix if it really wants to embrace Qi2, but this is a good stop-gap. Notably, Samsung’s first-party magnetic wallets employ the same strategy.
