It’s emerged that the Criminal Assets Bureau are no longer investigating the origin of over €350,000 in cash found in the home of convicted murderer Yousef Palani.
The sum of €357,000 was uncovered after a search of Palani’s family home shortly after he was arrested for the murders of Michael Snee and Aidan Moffitt.
It’s understood that the case has now been referred to the Department of Social Protection which would suggest that the cash did not come from criminal activity.
Palani remains in the Midlands Prison after assaulting an officer in Castlerea Prison.
