Parents and students in Simcoe County received welcome news on Tuesday afternoon as
the
Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) reported
no school bus cancellations in any zone today.
As of the 3:47 p.m. dashboard update on December 10, 2025, all regions on the SCSTC
“School Bus Status” page are showing a green checkmark, meaning buses are running as scheduled.
The consortium notes that every effort is made to post cancellations between
6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., and that all notices are cleared from the site
at 9:00 p.m. each day.
All Four Simcoe Zones – Plus Muskoka – Showing Green
The all-clear applies across the county and into Muskoka, covering both public and Catholic schools:
- North: Elmvale, Midland, Penetanguishene and Orillia area schools.
- West: Collingwood, Stayner and Wasaga Beach.
- Central: Barrie, Innisfil and Angus.
- South: Alliston, Beeton, Bradford, Cookstown and Tottenham.
- Muskoka: Huntsville and surrounding communities.
The dashboard lists dozens of elementary and secondary sites across the
Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) and the
Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB),
all currently operating with normal transportation service.
Check the Bus Status Before You Head Out
While today’s conditions allow buses to run as normal, winter weather in central Ontario can
change quickly. Families are encouraged to refresh the
official SCSTC bus status page early each morning, particularly on days with snow, freezing rain
or extreme cold in the forecast.
For those who still need to drive, federal officials stress that road safety starts before leaving the driveway.
Transport Canada’s winter driving guidance
recommends winter tires, slower speeds and giving yourself extra time when conditions are snowy or icy.
What Parents Should Remember on Winter Mornings
- Check the SCSTC site between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. for any new cancellations or delays.
- Have a backup plan in case buses are cancelled after a weather system moves in overnight.
- Dress children for the weather, including hats, mitts and boots, in case of delays at bus stops.
- Review basic winter road and sidewalk safety with older students who walk part of the route.
