Winter weather advisory issued for Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
A period of steady snow arrives early Wednesday morning and continues through the day, according the NWS. Brief periods of rain or freezing rain could mix in a times in the afternoon and early evening before changing back to all snow showers late Wednesday evening.
Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze are expected. Elevations above 1,900 feet could see 5 inches of snow.
The storm could create hazardous travel conditions for the morning and evening commutes.
