Longhorn Steakhouse opens new location in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — After months of waiting, families in Lynchburg have a new restaurant to enjoy, Longhorn Steakhouse.
Managing Partner Matt Burrus cut the ribbon and opened the doors of the steakhouse on Monday afternoon. According to their website, Longhorn Steakhouse opened back in 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia. Burrus shared that this is the first Longhorn to come to Lyncburg.
Burrus shared that he’s been with the company for about 22 years and that people have been ready for a Longhorn Steakhouse in Lynchburg.
“I worked in the location in Roanoke, and many people from Lynchburg would come up and ask when we were getting a Longhorn back in Lynchburg,” Burrus said. “We had the people, and now we’re open and ready to give a great dining experience to the community.”

Burrus shared that they have already done events with Liberty University and the Hillcats Baseball Team since being here. Burrus said he’s thrilled to bring their delicious and legendary menu to the Hill City.
“If you do a steak, it’s gotta be our outlaw ribeye,” Burrus said. “It’s our 20-ounce bone-in ribeye, and that comes with a side of salad choice, and if you’re looking for something a little different, our parmesan-crusted chicken is one of the favorites as well.”
Longhorn Steakhouse is located on Wards Road in the old O’Charley’s building. The location is open Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
