Bucky Barnes & Sentry Avengers: Doomsday Roles Get New Details — Report

Some new details about Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier and Sentry’s roles in Avengers: Doomsday have come to light, according to a recent report.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the superhero ensemble film will be released in United States theaters in just a little more than a year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, follows in 2027.

What is the update on Bucky Barnes and Sentry’s roles in Avengers: Doomsday?

While official plot details for Avengers: Doomsday remain under wraps at Marvel, scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus shared some insights regarding what Sebastian Stan and Lewis Pullman’s characters will be up to in the film.

Perez said that, while Pullman’s Bob Reynolds is “just trying to be relaxed and be chill throughout the movie,” an incident that sees Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova get thrown into a “precarious situation” then forces him “to bring out Sentry.”

Regarding what Bucky will be doing, Perez said, “Sebastian Stan is going to be one of the main core players when it comes to trying to be the mediator between the Avengers and the Thunderbolts*.”

These are only rumors, and they should be treated as such at this time, as MCU fans will have to wait until December 2026 to find out what Marvel truly has in store for Sentry and Bucky.

Avengers: Doomsday — which also stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Channing Tatum as Remy LeBeau/Gambit, Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast, and many more — arrives on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Avengers: Secret Wars, meanwhile, currently has a December 17, 2027, release date.
