The cast of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ talk Greek myths in the upcoming season

One of the most legendary artifacts in Greek mythology is the Golden Fleece—the hide of a golden ram and a sacred symbol thought to carry magical powers. Its best-known appearance is in the tale of Jason and the Argonauts, who embark on a heroic mission to steal the fleece and win back Jason’s throne.

The Golden Fleece also happens to make an appearance in the upcoming season of Disney’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Kenny Curtis—National Geographic’s in-house mythology expert and host of the Greeking Out podcast—took this as an opportunity to interview Percy Jackson cast members Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover, and Daniel Diemer, who plays Tyson, to test their Greek mythology knowledge.

Watch the interview above to hear the duo discuss everything from the true purpose of the Golden Fleece to how the Greek goddess Circe is portrayed in literature versus in the show. They even share which animal they would most want to be turned into. Season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians returns December 10 on Disney+. (Disney is the parent company of National Geographic.)
