Former FSU LB target to enter transfer portal

The FSU Seminoles just signed Izayia Williams, the No. 5 linebacker prospect in the country, but it is a position they have struggled to recruit over the past few years. That has led to the position group struggling on the field, despite a change in coaches.

One of their biggest misses was last season when four-star prospect Tavion Wallace committed and signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks. It was thought to be a battle between the Seminoles and Kentucky Wildcats for the Baxley, Georgia, product, with many experts favoring FSU. While they were unable to land him then, they will have a second shot, as he is planning to enter the transfer portal, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.

Wallace played in nine games as a true freshman, contributing on special teams. He played 11 snaps on defense, with none coming after Week 2, and finished the season with two tackles.

He was ranked as the No. 231 overall player and No. 23 linebacker in the Rivals industry ranking for the 2025 recruiting class. He will have three seasons of eligibility at his next stop and can also redshirt if needed.

The Seminoles are guaranteed to lose three members of their linebacker room from last season. Stefon Thompson and Elijah Herring are both out of eligibility, and reserve Jayden Parrish has announced he will be transferring. The three contributors who can return for at least another season are Justin Cryer, Blake Nichelson, and Omar Graham Jr.

All three of them had strong performances during the season, but also struggled at times. With the Seminoles needing to add several linebackers out of the transfer portal, Wallace will be a name to monitor to see if FSU makes another run at landing the former blue-chip recruit.
