Vancouver Canucks fans are apologizing to Quinn Hughes on social media

One of the darkest days in Vancouver Canucks history appears to be on the horizon.

With the Canucks toiling at the bottom of the NHL standings, they’ve done nothing to convince Quinn Hughes that this is a team worth sticking around for.

Now, with NHL insiders stating that the Canucks are having conversations with other teams about Hughes, coupled with his non-committal answers about staying in Vancouver, suggests that his departure is inevitable.

How should this make Canucks fans feel? Angry? Sad? Apathetic?

How about apologetic?

Hughes recently posted on his Instagram, announcing his partnership with a local jewellery firm.

Comments to his post were flooded by Canucks fans, many of whom apologized to Hughes for the situation in Vancouver.

“We love you here in Vancouver. Sorry you have to play for this ownership,” one fan said.

“Quinn I am really sorry you have to play for this organization. I love you forever – from a Canucks fan,” said another.

More fans continued to apologize for the fact that Hughes ended up in Vancouver, back when the Canucks selected him seventh overall in 2018.

“We gonna miss you bro,” a fan posted. “Sorry our franchise failed you.”

“Quinn I’m so sorry you have to play for the Canucks,” another fan said.

Even for the fans that weren’t apologizing, most of them had nothing but good wishes for Hughes and his future.

“We love you in Vancouver Quinn,” a fan wrote. “You’re the only reason worth watching, but do what’s best for your career, man.”

“Greatest defenceman in Canucks history! Fans here will love you forever,” said another.

While the fanbase in Vancouver might be intense, at least fans have been showering the Canucks captain with respect, even if his time with the franchise may be ending.
