‘Blah blah blah’: Star reveals marriage is over

Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer’s love story has officially come to an end.
The Trainwreck actress and the pro chef confirmed they are ending their marriage today, after years of split speculation.
“Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time,” she wrote in a lengthy caption on Instagram.
Alongside a photo of her and Fischer on the subway, she continued, “blah blah blah not becisse [sic] I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket and not because he’s a hot Janlmes beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”
The comedian, 44, and Fischer, 45, secretly married in 2018 and welcomed their only child, son Gene, in 2019. Since then, the pair have been plagued with rumours that their marriage was on the rocks.
Fischer first raised eyebrows in 2021 when he presented Schumer with a 40th birthday cake reading, “I’m leaving you,” ostensibly as a joke.
At the time, the actress shared a video of the incident via Instagram. Her face grew serious as Fischer presented her with the sarcastically inscribed confection while her family sang “Happy Birthday” in the background.
Then, in 2023, the two fielded chatter about the status of their marriage when they spent an entire summer apart. Schumer vacationed in Europe with Jerry Seinfeld and his wife, Jessica, without Fischer by her side.
In the weeks leading up to their split, speculation swirled as the “I Feel Pretty” star posted photos of her dramatic weight loss journey and shared cryptic updates about her relationship with Fischer.
A source told the Daily Mail in November that the actress and the chef were headed toward divorce.
“Amy is 100 percent getting divorced. She got skinny, she is over it,” a friend told the outlet, alleging that Fischer is “mostly out of the house” and that they had listed homes in New Orleans and Brooklyn, NY, for sale.
A source subsequently told People that Fischer and Schumer were “privately working through normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have” and described them as “both committed to the relationship.”
Schumer later ditched her wedding ring for a social media snap in a little yellow dress, further fuelling speculation that the longtime couple was on the outs.
By December 2, the Kinda Pregnant star directly addressed the rumours in a since-deleted Instagram Reel.
“Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism,” she wrote, referencing her slimmed-down figure and her husband’s autism diagnosis, which he revealed in 2019.
“Fingers crossed we make it through. He’s the best.”
Schumer added, “Questions?” before deleting the post altogether. Fischer and Schumer both appeared in the Reel, as did their son.
That same month, a source told Page Six that the duo had no chance of salvaging the relationship.
“They’ve been having issues for ages, and my understanding is all they are doing now is working out a conscious uncoupling plan,” the insider shared.
“There is zero chance of salvaging the marriage … but Amy also wants to have the most amicable co-parenting relationship possible with Chris, so they are sorting out what will work best.”
