Roofman OTT Premiere: Channing Tatum, Peter Dinklage, and Kirsten Dunst Set to Present a Real-Life Tale on THIS Date – Details Inside

Lionsgate Play is poised to debut Peter Dinklage, Kirsten Dunst, and Channing Tatum’s Roofman on December 19. The film received a standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for its delicate blend of yearning, escape, and surprising elegance. It draws inspiration from the true story of Jeffrey Manchester, a man who disappeared into the rafters and redefined his existence in the shadows.

The ensemble cast has shared their thoughts on the film, reflecting on their collaborative experiences.

Lead actor Channing Tatum discusses his role

Channing Tatum recounted his encounter with the real Jeffrey Manchester. He remarked, “I wasn’t sure what to anticipate when speaking with him (Jeffrey Manchester). Some days, our conversations revolved around him, while other times, we focused on my life. Engaging with Jeff was quite effortless; he has a way of guiding the dialogue. We’re narrating the tale of a man who is deceptive, somewhat of a trickster. He struggles to escape that identity. Yet, there are aspects of his life he wishes to reveal, as he carries many regrets for the pain he has inflicted. One of the first things he told me was, ‘I should be in here. I deserve to be here.’ He acknowledges his wrongdoings and accepts responsibility for them. When portraying a real individual, I primarily heed the filmmaker’s vision. I serve as a conduit to express whatever truth the filmmaker aims to convey. My role is to facilitate that and allow it to manifest.”

In a conversation with NDTV, Peter Dinklage, who plays Mitch, the manager of the Toys “R” Us store, expressed his thoughts on collaborating with the talented cast, stating, “Kristen has always been one of my favorite actresses. Her choices are simply remarkable. I’ve been a massive admirer of hers. It was a true privilege to finally work alongside her.

Channing is an exceptional actor. He possesses such elegance. Being a dancer, that physicality is inherently present, which greatly enhances his acting abilities.”

Further details about the film

However, when he develops feelings for Leigh (Kirsten Dunst), a divorced mother, his secret life begins to unravel, triggering a gripping and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past catches up with him.
