Robertson vs. Lemos cancelled before UFC Fight Night due to medical issue

Canada’s Gillian Robertson received some unfortunate news mere hours before she was set to step into the cage at the final UFC event of 2025.

Robertson’s scheduled strawweight bout with Amanda Lemos was cancelled due to what the organization called “a medical issue” with Lemos.

Lemos’s specific medical issue was not disclosed. Both women successfully made weight on Friday with Lemos weighing 115.5 pounds and Robertson at the non-title strawweight limit of 116 pounds.

The matchup was slated to be the featured fight on the preliminary card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

The Niagara Falls, Ont., native was one of four Canadian fighters set to compete on the card, which will proceed with 12 bouts instead of 13.

Squamish, B.C.’s Jamey-Lyn Horth kicks off the prelims against fellow flyweight Tereza Bleda. Calgary’s Melissa Croden faces Luana Santos in bantamweight action also on the prelims, and Lance Gibson Jr., of Port Moody, B.C., makes his UFC debut on the main card against Bobby “King” Green.

Robertson, 30, has won her last five fights and has risen to being the No. 10 contender in her division, while Lemos is ranked No. 5. A win over Lemos would’ve gotten Robertson one step closer to title contention.
