This year has been interesting to say the least – especially in the bonkers and bizarre world of fashion. The 12 months of 2025 have seen an array of eye-widening looks and a catalogue of trends to give any OAP an iffy episode.
We started the year with Bianca Censori – Kanye’s very scantily dressed partner – walking the Grammy red carpet with essentially everything on show. It comes as we look at the ‘best naked dresses’ of 2025 as celebs bare all.
And later in the year, we saw Sydney Sweeney take a Hollywood bombshell twist on the ‘naked’ dress – spearheading one of the most exposed autumn fashion trends in years.
Let’s not forget Kim Kardashian’s ‘pube’ thong. Oh, you erased that from your mind? Well, we’re here to remind you of the craziest fashion moments of 2025 – and you might want to hide your screen if you’re on the train.

‘Naked dress’
The ‘naked’ dress is a trend that saw everyone who is ‘anyone’ in the A-list showbiz world dare to bare.
It’s a style that sees female celebrities rock a sheer gown but with no bra – and sometimes no knickers – underneath. Essentially, the see-through material is the only thing that stops them from being fully in the buff.

Bianca Censori was notably the first to test the waters with her controversial sheer dress that was more ‘invisible’ than naked.
The fully sheer mini dress exposed her naked body underneath as partner Kanye stood fully dressed next to Bianca, as her breasts and crotch were on show.
It stunned much of the world that watched on during the Grammys back in February 2025.
Fast-forward to October of this year, Sydney Sweeney really stole the ‘naked’ dress crown from Aussie Bianca.
The actress,28, wore a silver chainmail dress to the Variety Power of Women gala and ‘broke the internet’ with the dress designed by Christian Cowan and Elias Matso.
People were stunned to see Sydney rocking the gown that exposed her braless chest.

However, this was no fashion faux pas. The intentional sheer look was the beginning of all the rage on the red carpet – cementing the go-to style for celebs for autumn/winter 2025.
Lily Allen rocked the look ‘revenge-style’ and even England footballer Chloe Kelly gave the trend a successful punt.
Will celebrities continue getting their nipples out in the name of fashion in 2026? We’ll have to wait and see.
‘Pube thong’
That takes us onto the pube thong. Ah, yes. The latest creation of reality star and mogul Kim Kardashian for her underwear brand SKIMS.
Kim has consistently been the one to not hop on trends but instead start them. She brought out the ‘nipple’ bra last year – way ahead of the ‘naked’ dress trend.
However, for 2025, Kim focused her creative efforts on down below. In October, the savvy businesswoman launched the ‘pube thong’ into the world.

And if you somehow managed to avoid it at the time, then let us give you a brief rundown.
The SKIMS pube thong is essentially synthetic hairs stuck onto a G-string to give the illusion of a hairy bush – without having to grow it out 70s style.
It’s basically a wig for your privates. The ‘FAUX HAIR MICRO STRING THONG’ priced at £34 comes in an array of colours and textures which allows “your carpet can be whatever colour you want it to be,” according to the SKIMS website.

Moving on…
‘Celeb nuns’
And last but not least, the celebrities dressing up as nuns. ‘Convent dressing’ has had a slow burn since 2023, with Sabrina Carpenter dressing up in a veil while filming her ‘Feather’ music video in a Catholic Church.
The popstar’s ‘religious-themed’ video didn’t go down too well with the church.

But, that hasn’t stopped celebrities embracing their inner nun in the name of creativity and fashion. More recently in October of this year, Lily Allen dressed as a nun for the ‘Pussy Palace’ music video.
The singer,40, posed on a stool while wearing the religious robes as she smoked a cigarette. Lily also flashed her thigh in a pair of black tights and also rocked a pair of high heels.
Not too sure how that would go down with the church!
However, instead of being intentionally blasphemous, dressing as a nun is just the latest trend that makes a statement of both “innocence and provocation,” fashion expert Lisa Talbot tells the Mail.

Singer Rosalía also dressed as a nun for her eclectic operatic-dance album, Lux.
She even received surprise praise from the Vatican for her “provocative” faith-inspired music.
Along with ‘convent dressing’ and ‘Catholic core’ becoming style trends on social media, a Spanish newspaper dubbed the movement ‘nun mania’.
It comes as those aged 18-24 were found to be the most spiritual age group in the UK.
Could we see people down the pub dressed as nuns in the name of fashion in 2026?
