Broadcasters crying after making these decisions on Premier League fixtures

When the broadcasters were considering their choice of Premier League fixtures for Saturday 13 December 2025, you have to wonder what they were thinking….?
This weekend there are four Premier League fixtures today (Saturday 13 December), then five on Sunday, finally one on Monday.
The bosses at Sky Sports and TNT Sports must be crying into their beer.
Which Premier League fixtures to put live on TV for their UK audiences, which to leave well alone.
I know they can’t select the same clubs all the time (well, not quite…), but what on earth were they thinking???
Saturday 13 December
Chelsea v Everton (3pm)
Liverpool v Brighton (3pm)
Burnley v Fulham (5.30pm) Sky Sports
Arsenal v Wolves (8pm) TNT Sports
Honestly, will anybody at all choose to watch these two matches on TV today, unless you support one of the four clubs.
No disrespect but…Burnley v Fulham doesn’t get anybody’s juices flowing.
Whilst the TNT Sports bosses a month or two ago choosing top against bottom, why???
The situation has got so much more extreme in the meantime as well, Saturday night prime time tonight sees the team that has won 10 and lost only two of 15 PL matches, at home against the one that is basically already relegated and has two points from a possible 45.
Quite hilarious that the TV bosses chose these two matches, whilst the ONLY thing talked about on Saturday ahead of the four games, is the Anfield circus and the Liverpool v Brighton match.
BBC Sport even putting up a special ‘BREAKING NEWS’ headline because Mo Salah is on the bench for a fifth match running, sitting next to Alex The Rat, who was woeful yet again in midweek for the scousers.
The thing is as well, Brighton play really good attacking football and this would have been a great game to watch anyway.
Never mind with all these added subplots and devious behaviour!
My analysis below on today’s four Premier League fixtures and the likely outcomes.
Sunday 14 December
Palace v Man City (2pm)
Forest v Spurs (2pm)
Sunderland v Newcastle (2pm)
West Ham v Villa (2pm)
Brentford v Leeds (4.30pm)
Monday 15 December
Man U v Bournemouth (8pm)
This is how the table looks on Saturday morning (13 December 2025) before any of the ten Premier League fixtures this weekend are played:
My conclusions and predictions on Saturday’s Premier League fixtures
Saturday 13 December
Chelsea v Everton (3pm)
In the blue corner, the most over-hyped team around, no wins in their last four games (all competitions) and ahead of losing midweek to Atalanta in the Champions League, Chelsea got a goalless draw at badly out of form Bournemouth and before that, hammered 3-1 at Leeds.
Then in the other blue corner, Everton fans seen their team win four of their last five matches, in the four wins they have scored seven goals and kept four clean sheets.
In the other match? Everton hammered 4-1 by Newcastle United, at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. This was talked about as a big off day for the home side, just maybe though, might it have been down to the fact that Newcastle United played pretty well…
With the billions spent at Chelsea you would be tempted to say home win, but the past two months, the only home PL win for Chelsea was against rock bottom Wolves. Meanwhile, Everton are in outstanding form recently, apart from when they play Newcastle United..
Everton would move above Chelsea with a win today and I wouldn’t bet against it. On the side of caution a bit though, I am going for a draw.
Liverpool v Brighton (3pm)
No caution at all on display here, I am absolutely backing a Brighton victory.
Liverpool have won only two of their last eleven domestic matches and lost seven of them. Even without the antics of Salah and Isak still trying to get fully fit after missing an entire summer of training and football…you wouldn’t be backing the scousers.
You then factor in that Brighton have lost only one of their last six PL matches and two of their last eleven. That they always carry a goal threat and especially loving it when counter attacking against a poor struggling side having to push for the win in front of their own fans…
A lot of talk this could be Mo Salah’s final appearance (off the bench!) for Liverpool and I think he will wave farewell with a defeat.
Burnley v Fulham (5.30pm)
The best thing I can say about this, is that I would rather watch it than Arsenal v Wolves later on.
Burnley have lost their last six Premier League matches, Fulham have lost five of their last six PL away games.
I suppose you would have to go for a draw, though any of the three outcomes are possible, but nobody cares about from the fans of these two clubs.
Arsenal v Wolves (8pm)
Saturday night TV is really bad but when this is the alternative, even Michael McIntyre is looking captivating.
The only possible chance of me watching any of this, is if I see on my phone that Wolves have taken the lead.
This is only a case of how many Arsenal win by and who wants to watch that???
