Aberdeen 2-1 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock suffered disappointing defeat on the road despite leading for the majority of the match away to Aberdeen.
Tyreece John-Jules fired Killie ahead after 16 minutes as he was slipped through on goal by James Brown – the striker did incredibly well to work his way into the box and calmly chip over Dimitar Mitov.
Liam Polworth had a good chance in the 22nd minute with a nice shot from outside the area, it flew agonisingly wide though.
Kilmarnock were awarded a penalty on the half-hour mark for a handball – but it was overturned following a VAR check.
Bruce Anderson had a decent chance in the 40th minute as the ball fell to him, he was quick to react and fire a shot on target but it was well saved by Mitov.
Topi Keskinen forged a good opportunity on 43 minutes, but his shot was blocked well by George Stanger and then comfortably collected by Tobi Oluwayemi in the Killie goal.
Both sides had a great chance just before the half-time whistle as Kevin Nisbet’s header went close, then from the counter Anderson had a shot up the other end – that was well saved by Mitov.
Aberdeen looked sure to level the scores five minutes into the second half, Graeme Shinnie had two shots from inside the six-yard box but they were both blocked off the line by a brave Stanger.
Jesper Karlsson was next to try his luck from distance for the Dons – his shot was deflected out for a corner.
Aberdeen substitute Kenan Bilalovic equalised in the 78th minute with a finish from close range after a low cross was fizzed across the goal.
Then the hosts were awarded a penalty as Brad Lyons was penalized for handball, a lengthy VAR check didn’t come to Killie’s rescue and Karlsson made no mistake from the spot to send Aberdeen ahead.
