Quinn Hughes bids farewell to Canucks on Instagram

Quinn Hughes took to Instagram on Saturday night to say goodbye to the fans, players and executives that shaped him during his time with Vancouver.

“I am very proud to have played for the Vancouver Canucks for 7 years, I loved the passion in the city & it brought me some of the most exciting times of my life, living out my dream. What makes playing in Vancouver so special is the people, the city, and what the team means to them! I will always be proud to have represented the Canucks!” wrote Hughes in the caption.

In the post, the superstar defenceman included a collection of five photos from his time with the team. Most of the photos featured his teammates and other members of the Canucks organization.

The 2023-24 Norris Trophy winner went on to specifically thank Francesco Aquilini and the entire Aquilini family along with Jim Rutherford and Adam Foote and “all the staff over the years.”

Hughes is set to make his debut with the Wild on Sunday following the blockbuster trade that sent him to Minnesota in exchange for forwards Marco Rossi and Liam Öhgren, defenceman Zeev Buium and a 2026 first-round pick.

Hughes ended his post with a special message to his new club.

“I am ready for this next chapter and I couldn’t be more excited to be in The State of Hockey! See you tomorrow Minnesota!”
