How many times have you longed to revisit a place from your past—a living room that hosted years of slumber parties or a backyard that housed a beloved treehouse? Some spaces hold extra special memories, and usually the only way to revisit those times is in your imagination. Unless, that is, you’re Jennifer Garner. As part of a partnership with the actress, KitchenAid recreated Garner’s childhood kitchen, right down to the wallpaper.

The actress didn’t tour it alone, either—she brought her mom along for a look and the sweet moment left many of her Instagram followers in tears. The video will certainly pull at your heartstrings, but we’re not over the retro room itself. There are more than a couple of details we’d love to recreate in a modern-day home:

A colorful refrigerator is an immediate throwback, and thankfully Smeg has kept the tradition alive with hues like feel a bit more fresh than 1970s avocado.

The detail that Garner’s mother most appreciated was the wallpaper, a playful grid pattern that has a bit of Memphis whimsy. We love this cool blue design that paints the same “structured, but fun” picture.

The Panel-Ready Dishwasher

The pro move we spotted in Garner’s childhood space? A hidden dishwasher. The key is starting with an appliance that’s customizable.

The Walnut-Inspired Cabinetry

Dark wood automatically serves up midcentury vibes, but you can bring it into the present day with a more modern door front or detailing. Isla Porter has a lot of great options—the Finn and Odan styles could be cousins to Garners’.

The Danish-style Dining Chairs

West Elm

Holland Dining Chair

The woven seats on the dining chairs in this time capsule of a kitchen are still very popular today, thanks to an everlasting interest in midcentury silhouettes. If you want to throw it back even further, do as Garner’s mom did and find some comfy seat pads in a fun pattern.
