The first measurable snow of the season hit several cities in the Northeast on Sunday morning.
As of Sunday afternoon, New York City saw a light blanketing of 1.1 inches of snow. In Queens, JFK International Airport reported 2.6 inches.
Across New York, snowfall totals were much higher, with parts of Long Island reporting 7 inches of snow.
In Massachusetts, Boston saw 1 inch of snow and nearby Providence, Rhode Island, measured 2.5 inches.
In New Jersey, on the other hand, this first weekend of snow delivered a hefty 6.2 inches in Union County. Essex County also saw 6 inches of snow. The weight from that heavy snow toppled many trees and power lines, with 21,000 customers without power in the state according to poweroutage.us.
