A man is being treated for injuries following a shooting incident in north Dublin this evening.
It took place in Coultry Terrace, Ballymun, in Dublin 9 shortly after 7:00pm.
A male ,aged in his 20s, sustained injuries during the incident and was transported by ambulance to hospital.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
The scene has been preserved for forensic examination and investigations are ongoing.
A motor vehicle on Kilbarron Road, Dublin 5 was discovered on fire a short time later.
It is believed that these two incidents may be connected.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either incident to come forward.
