Chevy Chase fights illness while interacting with fans in Erie
Even as Chase was fighting off a recent illness, as stated by his wife Jayni Chase in the beginning of the question-and-answer segment, he sat through and answered questions submitted by the audience.
The question-and-answer segment was moderated by comedian Tony Deyo.
“It was absolutely fantastic to see in person and hear a legend such as Chevy Chase and all of the comedic gems that he has given us over the years,” attendee Laura Stefanovski said. “I’m sure that wasn’t easy for him.”
Many fans in attendance were inspired by the fact that Chase battled through the illness and did not cancel the event.
“I know he was a bit under the weather, but he persevered,” attendee John Jageman said. “I think he could have easily given up and not showed up and then the question-and-answer segment wouldn’t have happened. Being the professional he is, he gave a performance and interacted with the audience as we expected him to do.”
Fans were able to submit questions to Chase via pollev.com/Chevy.
From there Chevy answered questions ranging from his home life to his historic acting career.
