ART EXHIBITION: The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College presents “Family Forms,” on display November 15–April 12, 2026. Bringing together contemporary art and vernacular photography, “Family Forms” looks closely at kinship, care, and the stories we tell about who we are to one another. Photographs, artists’ books, collage, sculpture, and video provide visitors ways to explore the spaces between our ideas about “the family” and the lived experiences of families. Visitors are invited to contribute to the exhibition by submitting their own family photographs via an online form. These images will be shown in the gallery on a digital frame throughout the run of the exhibition. The exhibition is free and open to the public. The Tang Museum, located on the Skidmore College campus at 815 N. Broadway in Saratoga Springs is open noon–5 pm Tuesday–Sunday, with extended hours until 9 pm on Thursdays. For more information, call the Tang’s Visitor Services Desk at 518-580-8080 or visit tang.skidmore.edu.

ART EXHIBITION: The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College presents “Sheila Pepe: When & Where We Rest,” a new immersive installation by Brooklyn-based artist Sheila Pepe opening October 11 in the Mezzanine Gallery. On view through September 12, 2027, the exhibition transforms the mezzanine into a communal space for contemplation, gathering, and conversation. “When & Where We Rest” includes a site-specific crochet installation that moves between the mezzanine and the Museum’s entry vestibule, alongside other crocheted and knit works. Another key element of the installation is a broadsheet wheat-pasted to a wall, that serves as both a takeaway for visitors and as a visual element of the exhibition.

ART EXHIBITION: The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College announces “See It Now: Contemporary Art from the Ann and Mel Schaffer Collection.” This new exhibition celebrates art and artists brought together over five decades by Ann Schapps Schaffer ’62 and Mel Schaffer. Featuring over one hundred artworks, See It Now highlights bold and incisive artworks that grapple with the complexities of contemporary life. The exhibition foregrounds artists whose works probe questions of race, migration, loss, gender, belonging — issues at the center of today’s world. Drawing from the Schaffers’ renowned private collection — formed with a spirit of curiosity and a commitment to artists at pivotal moments — “See It Now” offers audiences a rare, in-depth opportunity to view works by artists who have shaped the last half-century of art. “See It Now” will be on display from Sep 13 – Jan 4, 2026. The Tang Museum, located on the Skidmore College campus at 815 N. Broadway in Saratoga Springs, is open noon–5 pm Tuesday–Sunday, with extended hours until 9 pm on Thursdays. ART EXHIBITION: The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College presents “All These Growing Things,” a year-long exhibition of contemporary and historical paintings, prints, textiles, photography, and sculpture from the Tang Museum collection that explores questions of becoming and belonging. Organized around four central ideas—Ancestries, Masks, Transformations, and Hybrids—the exhibition traces personal, ancestral, and cultural histories; considers masking as both revelation and concealment; explores the transformative possibilities of our lives; and highlights interconnections among humans, plants, and animals. Hybrids function as a cross-cutting thread that weaves through the other three sections to draw out these interconnections. The exhibition will be on view through July 19, 2026. “All These Growing Things” is free and open to the public. The Tang Museum, located on the Skidmore College campus at 815 N. Broadway in Saratoga Springs, is open noon–5 pm Tuesday–Sunday, with extended hours until 9 pm on Thursdays.
