We made it! Time for some warmer temperatures

Here’s your Sunday evening forecast for December 14, 2025 from Meteorologist Matt Serwe.
Temperatures are climbing out of the cellar to start the week. Highs reach the mid 20s Monday afternoon, then the upper 30s and close to 40° Tuesday and Wednesday. If, like me, you have been waiting for sun and warmer weather to melt the snow off the driveway, here you go.
As the warmer air moves into the state Monday night, there could be some light freezing drizzle in northern Minnesota. Moisture is lacking, but it could be enough for some slippery stretches north of Brainerd. The best chance for a little light snow this week is Thursday afternoon. This might total an inch in spots.
The pattern this week includes a few strong lows. They won’t bring much in the way of moisture, but they will have plenty of wind and temperature swings. On Tuesday, the warm-up is accompanied by gusts up to 35 mph. A sharp shot of cold air and light snow Thursday come with gusts over 40 mph.
By the end of the week, we settle into a stretch with highs in the low to mid 20s. I can already hear you asking, “What about Christmas?!” as it is next week. All I can give you right now: warmer.
