Sam Heughan worlds away from Jamie in ‘wildly funny’ comedy on Netflix
Netflix has recently added a popular comedy film that will give Outlander enthusiasts a completely fresh perspective on beloved leading man Sam Heughan.
The Scottish star is widely recognised for his role as Highlander Jamie Fraser alongside Caitriona Balfe, who plays his time-travelling spouse Claire, in the acclaimed Starz series.
Following more than a decade on air, the beloved drama is set to conclude next year with its eighth and final series, available on MGM+ through Prime Video for UK viewers.
Before his last appearance as the rugged protagonist Jamie, audiences have been discovering Heughan’s diverse range beyond the period fantasy drama, including a recent theatrical performance in Macbeth and the sultry contemporary thriller The Couple Next Door.
Now, the streaming giant has introduced its own offering: the entertaining 2018 film The Spy Who Dumped Me, reports the Scottish Daily Express.

Featuring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon, the action-comedy centres on two best mates who find themselves relentlessly chased by assassins after one of their former partners is exposed as a rogue CIA operative.
Heughan plays Sebastian, one of those pursuing agent Drew (Justin Theroux), whose allegiances remain uncertain.
Devotees who have already been captivated by Heughan’s interpretation of author Diana Gabaldon’s cherished Scottish hero Jamie are in for an exciting experience if they haven’t yet seen what might be his most contrasting role to date.
One Letterboxd reviewer described The Spy Who Dumped Me as “wildly funny”. Fans couldn’t contain their enthusiasm, with one viewer admitting: “Can’t believe how many times I laughed out loud. I’m 100% sure my friends would act like this if we were thrown into a spy mission. Fighting for our lives but still cracking jokes.”

Another praised the chemistry between the leads: “Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon as a comedic duo are the greatest thing that has ever happened or will happen in my life.”
One particularly bold fan declared: “I genuinely think this is the most underrated action comedy of all time.”
Further glowing reviews poured in, with one stating: “Tell me that line ain’t some great writing right there. I thought this film would be funny but not THAT FUNNY! Kunis and McKinnon had me almost in tears.
“They both work so well together like peanut butter on toast. The comedy was great and the action was quite violent which kinda surprised me since I wasn’t expecting that.
