Miami legend Jason Taylor set to be part of ESPN’s ManningCast for Dolphins-Steelers game

Jason Taylor is all smiles as his teammates carry him off the field after the game with The Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens on January 1,2012.
Jason Taylor will be hard at work this week as he helps the Miami Hurricanes get ready for their first-round College Football Playoff matchup against the Texas A&M Aggies.
But for a brief bit on Monday, he’ll take some time to talk about the Miami Dolphins as they play in his hometown.
Taylor is expected to be a guest on ManningCast, the ESPN’s alternate broadcast for its Monday Night Football games hosted by Peyton and Eli Manning, when the Dolphins play at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, an Omaha Productions source told the Miami Herald. The show airs on ESPN2. Sports Business Journal reported Monday that actor Michael Keaton is also slated to make an appearance on the show. Country music singer Lainey Wilson was also previously reported as a landed guest.
Taylor, a Pittsburgh native, played 13 of 15 seasons of his Pro Football Hall of Fame career with the Dolphins. He finished his career with 788 tackles, 139.5 sacks, 48 forced fumbles, 29 fumble recoveries, eight interceptions and nine defensive touchdowns — including six fumble returns for a touchdown that still stands as the NFL record.
He was a six-time Pro Bowler, the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2006 and the league’s sacks leader in 2002. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017, his first season of eligibility.
Taylor spent his first 11 seasons, from 1997 to 2007, with the Dolphins before playing one season with Washington in 2008, going back to the Dolphins in 2009, playing a season with the New York Jets in 2010 and then going back to the Dolphins in 2011 to end his playing career.
Taylor is now in his fourth season overall as an assistant for the Hurricanes and third as UM’s defensive line coach. He has been integral in helping develop current edge rushers Rueben Bain Jr. and Akheem Mesidor into likely top picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, which will take place April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
