Timothée Chalamet Jokes About Dying During Kendrick Inter…

Before hopping into a GNX for his interview with Kendrick Lamar ahead of the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, Timothée Chalamet can be heard telling the rapper, “My life is in your hands.” Now we know how somewhat serious Chalamet was when he made that statement.

During his appearance on 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony, the Marty Supreme actor joked that the thought crossed his mind about possibly getting killed while riding around with Kendrick, who was embroiled in an ongoing feud with Drake at the time. “I was like, ‘Wow, he’s in the middle of this beef. Could you imagine if this is how I go out?'” Chalamet recalled.

“‘Actor Timothée Chalamet murdered.’ That would be a crazy end of the Wikipedia,” he added.

Looking back at their time together, Chalamet was struck by Kendrick’s calm demeanor, even as the rapper was dealing with the insanity of his beef with Drake.

“My big takeaway from Kendrick was, during all the huge beef last year, I was just so amazed,” the actor said. “I was so impressed that this man was so calm sitting next to me, and I was like, ‘Wow, he’s engaged in a gladiator sport right now.’ And as much as I love hip-hop, as I was sitting next to him, I was like, ‘Wow. I could not do that.'”

“I couldn’t believe you could be that big, at war with somebody that big, and go about your life,” Chalamet continued.

When asked by journalist Judita DaSilva earlier this year to share his thoughts about the highly-publicized battle, Chalamet said, “I think we saw, beyond the quality of songs in the battle environment, pop culture at large got behind the Nobel figure and Pulitzer figure.”
