7 Arizona Lottery winners take home massive prizes

PHOENIX — Multiple Arizona Lottery winners will have plenty of extra cash for holiday shopping after scoring big-money payouts, including one for $250,000.

The largest of the wins, a cool quarter-million, came from a Triple Twist ticket sold at the QuikTrip at Southern and 19th avenues in Phoenix.

Triple Twist is a daily game offered by Arizona Lottery, where players select six numbers between 1 and 42 after purchasing a ticket for $2. Each jackpot starts at $200,000, and the odds of selecting a winning ticket are roughly 1 in 5.2 million.

Two Powerball players took home the second-highest winnings of the weekend after Saturday’s drawings. Their tickets matched four of the five winning numbers — 1, 28, 31, 57 and 58 — plus the red Powerball of 16.

That combination is good for $50,000, but both players included the Power Play option, which wound up doubling their payouts to $100,000 each.

The winners purchased their tickets at a Circle K in Tucson and at the Fry’s at Ellsworth and Riggs roads in Queen Creek.

The jackpot for the next Powerball drawing is estimated to be a cool $1.1 billion. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in over 292 million.

Winners have 180 days from the date of the drawings to claim their winnings.

How much did the other Arizona Lottery winners earn last weekend?

Three other Arizona Lottery winners all took home $50,000 payouts through the Powerball:

  • A shopper who bought a ticket from an Albertsons in Tucson.
  • A shopper at Maverik in Lake Havasu.
  • A shopper at the Safeway in Mesa near McKellips and Power roads.

The seventh winner, who took home the smallest pot of gold, earned $40,000 from a Mega Millions ticket bought from a Basha’s in Payson.
