Zoe Devlin scored 17 points as North Hills rallied from six points down after three quarters to knock off Class 6A No. 1 Canon-McMillan, 44-43, in nonsection girls basketball Tuesday night.
Delaney Amato added 13 points for North Hills (2-4), which outscored the Big Macs 13-6 in the fourth quarter. Madison Clair had a game-high 18 and Faye Saunders added 11 for Canon-McMillan (6-1).
Armstrong 56, Apollo-Ridge 33 – Mary Duncan scored 21 points while Isabella Pawk had 10 to power Armstrong (4-4) to a nonsection win over Apollo-Ridge (2-5).
Baldwin 58, Peters Township 51 – Julianne Ott led with 25 points, Lynsey Bernotas followed with 11 and Kelsey Meyer added 10 to push Baldwin (5-1, 1-0) to a Section 4-5A win. Bri Morreale scored 22 points for Peters Township (3-3, 0-2).
Bethel Park 69, Albert Gallatin 9 – Naiya Turner and Fiona O’Neill scored 12 points apiece to lead Bethel Park (3-2, 1-1) to a Section 4-5A win over Albert Gallatin (0-5, 0-2).
Burgettstown 39, Laurel 24 – Savanna Rush and Paige Klodowski scored 10 points apiece to lead Burgettstown (5-1) to a nonsection win. Alexis Blair scored eight points for Laurel (4-2).
Derry 39, Southmoreland 34 – Trinity Miller scored 15 points and Kylee Metcalf followed with 12 for Derry (2-5) in a nonsection win. Ashley Seder scored 16 and Leah Moore finished with 14 for Southmoreland (1-7).
Fort Cherry 52, Carmichaels 13 – Allison Litman and Emily Pfender scored 11 points apiece and Julie Klose added 10 to lead Fort Cherry (2-4) to a nonsection win over Carmichaels (1-5).
Frazier 60, Charleroi 32 – Chloe Harger and Allie Yauch each had 15 points while Malana Burton chipped in 10 to lead Frazier (3-4) to a nonsection win. Eden Smith had 14 for Charleroi (3-4, 0-2).
Freeport 62, Riverview 24 – Lillian Holloway scored 14 points while Sydney Reiser and Nia Disanti each had 10 to lead Freeport (4-3, 1-1) to a nonsection win. Isabel Chaparro had 19 to lead Riverview (3-3).
McKeesport 60, Greensburg Salem 40 – Emily Eisenberg scored 18 points, Dannah Sebelia had 17 and Sunny Harper had 12 as McKeesport (5-2, 1-1) picked up a Section 2-5A win. Sophie Beckerleg scored 15 for Greensburg Salem (4-3, 0-2).
Indiana 41, Kiski Area 18 – Laken Kugler scored 15 points and Julia Antonacci added 11 to lead Indiana (7-0, 2-0) to a Section 2-5A win over Kiski Area (4-2, 0-1).
St. Joseph 77, Leechburg 17 – Bella Bartolovic went off for 27 points to lead St. Joseph (4-2, 2-0) to a Section 1-A win. Kasey Cienik scored 12 and Maddie Krill and Jocelyn Spinelli each had 11 for the Spartans.
Thomas Jefferson 53, Trinity 49 – Maggie Spell scored 21 points to lead Thomas Jefferson (6-1, 2-0) to a Section 4-5A win. Sutton Williamson had 17 and Gabriella Humphreys had 12 for Trinity (5-1, 1-1)
Upper St. Clair 56, Chartiers Valley 31 – Ryan Prunzik scored 12 points as Upper St. Clair (3-2) rolled to a nonsection victory. Alex Horr led Chartiers Valley (1-7) with 16.
West Greene 50, Mapletown 12 – Kendra Tharp (14), Madelyn Roberts (13) and Jillissa Yeater (11) all scored in double digits as West Greene (5-2, 1-1) held Mapletown (1-6, 0-2) scoreless for two quarters to get the Section 2-A win.
Boys basketball
Belle Vernon 74, Yough 25 – Three players scored double digits for Belle Vernon (5-3, 2-0), led by Curtis Wade’s 14, in a Section 3-4A win. Elijah Majors and Cam Jenko each had 13 for the Leopards. Wyatt Kalna had 12 points for Yough (0-8, 0-2).
Butler 66, North Hills 53 – Andrew Gettinger erupted for 30 points while Stainton Forbes (16) and Cael Hanley (10) combined for 26 to lead Butler (3-2, 1-1) to a Section 1-6A win over North Hills (3-3, 0-2).
Central Catholic 56, Mt. Lebanon 39 – Enzo Khalil led all scorers with 23 points to power Central Catholic (4-1, 2-0) to a Section 2-6A win. Christian Williams had 10 for the Vikings. Liam Sheely scored 18 and Jacob Zaber had 10 for Mt. Lebanon (4-1, 1-1).
Chartiers Valley 76, Montour 47 – Julius Best scored 20 points, Julian Semplice and Luca Federico had 17 points apiece and Jake Lewis added 10 to lead Chartiers Valley (5-1, 2-0) to a Section 4-5A win. Robert Schmitt scored 13 points and Loic Kalau had 11 for Montour (1-5, 0-2).
Clairton 60, Greensburg Central Catholic 35 – Jeff Thompson lll scored 14 points and Brandon Murphy Jr. and Taris Wooding added 12 points apiece to lead Clairton (3-0, 2-0) to a Section 1-2A win over Greensburg Central Catholic (0-5, 0-2).
Eden Christian 67, Propel Braddock Hills 29 – Brady Salvia scored 25 points to lead Eden Christian (5-1, 1-1) to a Section 2-2A win over Propel Braddock Hills (1-6, 0-2). Mason Dean had 16 points and River Bartram had 11 for the Warriors.
Elizabeth Forward 77, East Allegheny 56 – Tyler Basic scored 28 points and Daniel Spence added 22 to lead Elizabeth Forward (3-3, 1-0) to a Section 3-4A win. Jayden Patterson scored 31 points for East Allegheny (3-2, 1-1).
Fort Cherry 70, Burgettstown 49 – Connor Vansickle had a game-high 23 points to lead Fort Cherry (2-2, 1-1) to a Section 3-2A win. Gavin Grace had 10 for the Rangers. Black Neal (13) and Damon Shaffer (12) combined for 25 for Burgettstown (1-4, 0-2)
Fox Chapel 47, Pine-Richland 42 – Led by 14 points from Carson Rihn, 11 from Joseph McGivney and 10 from John Rehak, Fox Chapel (5-1, 2-0) picked up a Section 1-6A win. Eli Catalano scored 15 for Pine-Richland (1-4, 0-2).
Gateway 59, Laurel Highlands 27 – Mykel Bruce-McCrommon scored 28 points to lead Gateway (2-1, 2-0) to a Section 1-5A win. Kayden Smith scored 11 points for Laurel Highlands (4-3, 0-2).
Geibel Catholic 71, Propel Montour 70 – Evan Strimel scored a game-high 27 points while Seth Dolan contributed 17 and Anthony Nickischer 12 to power Geibel Catholic (4-2) to a nonsection win. John Anderson (22) and Marsai Porch (20) each hit the 20-point mark and TyTy Hawkins scored 15 for Propel Montour (1-1).
Hempfield 68, Connellsville 44 – Trevor Donsen scored 19 points and Danny Husenits added 11 to lead Hempfield (4-2, 1-1) to a Section 2-6A win. Christian Thomas scored 11 points for Connellsville (2-4, 0-2).
Hopewell 78, Keystone Oaks 64 – James “Booboo” Armstrong led with 28 points, Brody Rock followed with 19 and Justin Shegog added 17 for Hopewell (4-0) in a nonsection win. Joseph Colton and Erond Jakupi scored 16 points apiece for Keystone Oaks (6-1).
Jeannette 71, Bentworth 24 – Markus McGowan led with 14 points, Kymon’e Brown followed with 12 and Xavier Odorisio-Farrow added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Jeannette (5-1, 2-0) in a Section 1-2A win. Ryan Moessner scored 12 points for Bentworth (3-2, 1-1).
Jefferson-Morgan 46, Beth-Center 29 – Jeremiah Robertson scored 17 points, Dayten Marion had 13 and Brayden Ellsworth added 10 to lead Jefferson-Morgan (4-0, 2-0) past Beth-Center (3-2, 1-1) in a 3-2A win.
Kiski Area 55, Indiana 51 – Amaree Gonzalez scored 18 points, including 8 of 9 free throws in the fourth quarter, and Devin Lindenfelser added 12 points to lead Kiski Area (3-2, 1-0) to a Section 2-5A win. Darius Webb scored 19, Aaron Webb added 15 and Will Olsen had 10 for Indiana (4-3, 1-1).
Knoch 53, Burrell 20 – Led by 13 points from Liam Avon, 12 from Vinny DeFelice and 10 from Teegan Finucan, Knoch (3-2, 2-0) defeated Burrell (2-4, 0-2) in Section 1-4A.
Latrobe 82, Uniontown 43 – Dom Scarton netted seven 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 25 points to lead Latrobe (3-3, 1-1) to a Section 1-5A win. Andy Tatch scored 17 points while Ian DeCerb contributed 10 for the Wildcats. Cam Dugan (18) and Payden Fitzgerald (12) combined for 30 points to lead Uniontown (3-3, 1-1)
Our Lady of Sacred Heart 62, Laurel 49 – Three players scored in double digits for Our Lady of Sacred Heart (3-1, 1-1), led by Tiernan McCullough’s 21 points. Frankie Igrec had 18 and Jake Johnson had 11 for the Chargers. Mason Ernst and Tyrone Kunselman each had 16 for Laurel (4-2, 1-1).
Mars 89, Highlands 67 – Austen Wroblewski scored 27 points to power Mars (4-1) to a nonsection win. Sam Miller added 15 and Ben Detisch had 14 for the Fightin’ Planets. Troy Bielak led Highlands (4-2) with 30 points. Ty Hall had 14 and Carmine Lacava chipped in 10.
Mohawk 64, New Brighton 38 – Joey Nail led with 20 points, Bobby Fadden followed with 15 and Drew Wrona added 10 for Mohawk (4-1, 2-0) in a Section 1-3A win. Joey Kennedy scored 15 points and Dash Graham had 13 for New Brighton (3-3, 0-1).
Moon 52, Obama Academy 38 – Jackson Bauman scored 14 points while A.J. Buford had 11 to lead Moon (3-1) to a nonsection win. Naron Jackson II had 15 to lead Obama Academy (2-2).
Neshannock 70, Shenango 62 – David Kwiat had 28 points while Jino Mozzocio and Luca Pagley each had 10 to lead Neshannock (3-1, 2-0) to a Section 4-2A win. Taegan Russo scored 21 and Caleb McConnell had 17 for Shenango (4-1, 1-1).
North Catholic 93, Freeport 55 – Jason Fredericks led North Catholic (4-1, 1-0) with 31 points, Zach Zolkowski followed with 11 and Jake Olkowski added 10 in a Section 1-4A win. Carson Kane scored 18 points for Freeport (2-4, 1-1).
Penn Hills 31, Hampton 26 – Dallas Smith scored 11 points to lead Penn Hills (1-4, 1-1) to a Section 2-5A win. Jonas Cupps scored 14 points for Hampton (3-3, 1-1).
Penn-Trafford 71, Albert Gallatin 42 – Zach Feldman scored 17 points and Ethan McDonald and Ben Lenart added 12 points apiece to lead Penn-Trafford (2-5, 1-1) to a Section 1-5A win. Mekhi Belt scored 14 points for Albert Gallatin (2-4, 0-2).
Peters Township 66, Baldwin 63 – Jayden Greco scored 20 points and Jake Wetzel and Dylan Donovan added 15 points apiece to push Peters Township (4-2, 1-1) to a Section 3-5A win. Max Marzina scored 19 points and Jaxon Ott had 13 for Baldwin (3-2, 0-1).
Plum 53, Armstrong 29 – Xavier Barto poured in 16 points, Bryce Nabrozny had 15 and Mekhi Samuels chipped in 10 to lead Plum (2-4, 1-1) to a Section 2-5A win. Quinton Olson and Greg Shultz scored eight points apiece for Armstrong (4-3, 0-2).
Ringgold 83, West Mifflin 46 – Takeo Tolliver and David Wachinski poured in 17 points apiece and Braylen Lomax chipped in 12 to lead Ringgold (5-1) to a nonsection win. Julian Dewberry scored 17 points and Eli Kurta had 12 for West Mifflin (0-8).
Riverside 49, Ellwood City 47 (OT) – Cole Becker scored 17 points and McCartney Plassmeyer added 11 to push Riverside (5-1, 1-1) to a Section 1-3A win in overtime. Kaleb Servick scored 18 points, Aaron Lake had 11 and Jackson Kerr added 10 for Ellwood City (4-3, 1-1).
Riverview 44, Frazier 38 – Rex Roberts scored 16 points to boost Riverview (3-5, 1-1) to a Section 1-2A win. Kolby Stewart led Frazier (4-4, 1-1) with 16 points.
Franklin Regional 60, McKeesport 53 – Alec Masten scored 19 points, Colin Holt had 14 and Webber Rankin had 11 as Franklin Regional (5-1, 2-0) got the Section 1-5A win. Lamont Perkins led McKeesport (3-2, 1-1) with 22 points while Brian Jones had 10.
Seneca Valley 51, North Allegheny 31 – Owen Congdon and Nico Santapau scored 13 points apiece to lead Seneca Valley (3-2, 1-1) to a Section 1-6A win. Justin Statler scored seven points for North Allegheny (4-1, 1-1).
Seton LaSalle 70, Waynesburg 43 – Jaleel Wright led with 19 points, Charlie Crummie followed with 13 and DayVaughn Williams added 10 for Seton LaSalle (5-2) in a nonsection win. Cole Headlee scored 15 points and Dane Wood had 14 for Waynesburg (2-3).
Sewickley Academy 84, Brentwood 31 – Garret Steals scored 14 points and Lucas Grimsley and Mamadou Kane added 11 points apiece to lead Sewickley Academy (5-0, 2-0) to a section 2-2A win. Deng Mu scored 11 points for Brentwood (1-5, 0-2).
South Allegheny 79, Serra Catholic 62 – Drew Cook scored 30 points, Fisher Ielease had 18, Smaj Reason had 11 and Alijah Cook 10 as South Allegheny (5-2) got the nonsection win. Brayden Graham scored 22 points while Tyler Graham 15 for Serra Catholic (3-4).
South Fayette 60, Bethel Park 49 – Owen Keener led with 20 points, Braeden Plasko had 13 and Dylan Monz added 11 for South Fayette (2-4, 1-1) in a Section 3-5A win. Joe Parisi scored 16 points for Bethel Park (0-6, 0-2).
South Side 61, Rochester 59 – Andrew Corfield went for 27 points while Austin Leatherman had 11 to lead South Side (4-2, 1-1) to a Section 4-2A win. Bobby George had 19 points, Jensen Seybert added 12, Jace Garuccio chipped in 11 and Max Lyons finished with 10 for Rochester (1-6, 1-1).
Springdale 76, California 42 – Robby Simmen led Springdale (2-3, 1-1) with 39 points and Liam Dexter added 30 in a Section 1-2A win. Ben Ziolecki and Weston Monticelli scored 11 points apiece for California (0-4, 0-2).
Thomas Jefferson 59, Trinity 40 – Nicholas Trklja scored 17 points, Justin Fry had 16 and Kane Eggerton added 10 to lead Thomas Jefferson (6-0, 2-0) to a Section 3-5A win. Jonah Williamson scored nine points for Trinity (2-4, 1-1).
Union 63, Western Beaver 31 – Jordyn Kelley scored 17 points and Swayzee Reighert finished with 14 to lead Union (2-6, 1-1) to a Section 4-2A win. Nate Schwarz had 12 to lead Western Beaver (1-6, 0-2)
West Allegheny 68, Blackhawk 47 – Josiah Johnson poured in 31 points, Solomon Cunningham had 12 and King Henke chipped in 11 to lead West Allegheny (4-2, 1-1) to a Section 4-5A win. Marco Fusetti scored 19 points and Carter Davis had 15 for Blackhawk (2-4, 0-2).
West Greene 55, Mapletown 20 – Matt Wassil scored 14 points, Darren Knight had 13 and Will Shipman added 12 to lead West Greene (1-3, 1-0) to a Section 3-2A win. Kaleb Evosevich and Colton Taylor scored eight points apiece for Mapletown (0-6, 0-2).
Westmoreland Christian 40, Robinson Christian 27 – Dante Ditch had 13 points and six assists to lead Westmoreland Christian. Owen Campbell scored 16 for Robinson Christian.
Wilmington 78, Perry Traditional Academy 76 – Freddie Zehetner scored 43 points to lead Wilmington to a nonsection win. Landen Boykin led four players in double figures for Perry (). Chaz Jackson had 18, Isaac Long added 15 and De’Onte Herring chipped in 10 for the Commodores.
Winchester Thurston 69, Cornell 39 – Mike Hamerling had a team-high 18 points to lead Winchester Thurston (6-1, 1-0) to a nonsection win. Aiden Piemme had 13, Elijah Bullock contributed 11 and Tahj Smith added 10 for Winchester Thurston. Edwardo Benitez scored a game-high 30 points to lead Cornell (1-4).
Hockey
Armstrong 4, Bethel Park 3 – Jake Graff had two goals and an assist, Josh Rullo added a goal and two assists and Evan Heilman also scored to help Armstrong (10-2) to a Class 2A win. Caden Busch, Lukas Crisson and Nate Alborg scored for Bethel Park (7-4-1).
Blackhawk 5, Richland 1 – Finn Conlon finished with two goals and two assists, Grant Shroads added a goal and an assist and Daniel Ostrom handed out three assists to send Blackhawk (9-2) to a Class A win. Wesley Dunlap scored for Richland (1-10).
Bishop McCort 5, Cathedral Prep 2 – Zakhar Bryndin had a hat trick and added an assist, Ben Cannizazaro added a goal and two assists and Isaiah Lieb had a goal and an assist to lead Bishop McCort (8-6) to a Class 2A win. Garrett Schwartz scored twice for Cathedral Prep (1-7-3).
Canon-McMillan 5, Montour 1 – Connor Stokes had two goals and Eli Pruss, Ayden Heinen and Tristan Bobbs also scored to lead Canon-McMillan (10-0) to a Class A win. Colte Wilson scored for Montour (5-6-1).
Carrick 6, McDowell 3 – Landon Jeffrey scored a hat trick and Chris Tomassi and Ethan Semenov each had a goal and two assists to lead Carrick (3-8) to a Division 2 win. Dylan Payne, Ryaln Garrison and Aiden Figurski each had a goal and an assist for McDowell (3-9).
Chartiers Valley 10, Wheeling Catholic 1 – Jackson Chorney collected four goals and an assist, Bryce Wichterman had a hat trick and Dylan Shamonsky added two goals and an assist to lead Chartiers Valley (10-0-1) to a Class A win. Maddox Ochap scored for Wheeling Catholic (1-8).
Connellsville 7, Central Valley 0 – Mason Mazak had a hat trick, Sam Denny dished out four assists, Nolan Wojnar added a goal and an assist and Nick Daniels-Nimick made 20 saves to lead Connellsville (9-3) to a Division 2 win over Central Valley (2-8-1).
