D-FW to trade chilly weather for unseasonable warmth. See how toasty it will get

After the metro area saw its coldest temperatures of the season Monday morning, weather conditions in North Texas are set to pivot.

A pattern of above-normal temperatures is expected to establish itself this week, potentially lasting through Christmas. By Saturday, temperatures could be as much as 20 degrees above normal at DFW International Airport.

Tuesday is expected to provide a transition between Monday’s chill and the late week warmth, with a near-average high of 61 degrees. According to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, it should be overcast to start the day before the cloud cover begins decreasing.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the high is expected to peak at 67, about 10 degrees above normal for mid-December. Overnight temperatures should also be significantly warmer by midweek, ranging from the upper 40s to the mid-50s.
