Beloved A-list actor says he’s never seen film he starred in that’s made $2 billion

Millions of people around the world have sat through the three-hour marathon that is the 1997 hit film “Titanic.” The story of Jack and Rose has captivated audiences for nearly 30 years, earning more than $2.2 billion in the process.

However, one of the film’s stars, Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio admitted recently that he’s never seen the iconic film. The admission came in an interview between DiCaprio and actress Jennifer Lawrence for Variety.

During the interview, the acting superstars were discussing how DiCaprio turned down a role in the movie “Boogie Nights” because the production was set to begin too close to the “Titanic” production schedule.

“Have you rewatched ‘Titanic’?” Lawrence asks.

“No. I haven’t seen it before,” DiCaprio replies.

As the duo continued, they both admitted they don’t typically watch their own films. Lawrence said she tried watching “American Hustle” once while she was drunk to determine if she is a good actress. However, she is unable to remember what she ended up thinking about her performance.

DiCaprio was catapulted into stardom following “Titanic’s” release as it became the highest grossing movie of all time, however that record has since been broken. His performance earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama and turned him into a global phenomenon.

In the years since, DiCaprio earned several Academy Award nominations for Best Actor, including 2016’s “The Revenant,” which DiCaprio eventually won. Lawrence too has received several Academy Award nominations for Best Actress and won in 2013 for her work in “Silver Linings Playbook.”

The actors starred alongside each other in 2022’s “Don’t Look Up” and each earned Golden Globe nominations for their performances. The two are set to work together again on “What Happens at Night” which will be directed by legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
