CU Boulder to close Wednesday due to high winds

The University of Colorado Boulder will close all but “essential” functions of the campus Wednesday due to forecasted high winds and potential power outages in Boulder County.

Administrative functions of the campus will be closed and campus events may be canceled, the university said in a Tuesday evening alert. All scheduled classes have been canceled.

Employees who are not considered critical and essential services employees should not come to campus, the alert said.

“Administrative closure” means administrative functions are closed so the campus can implement protocols required to continue essential services, such as “housing, facilities, safety, etc.” and clear branches as needed, according to the alert.

The University Memorial Center and most dining locations will be closed, and CU on the Run will be open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., according to CU X posts.
