DHAKA – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has called on the nation to pray for Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, after being informed that his condition is “extremely critical.”
The information was shared in an official Facebook post on Wednesday night.
The post said Singapore’s Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan visited Hadi, who is currently receiving treatment in Singapore.
At 9:40pm, Dr Balakrishnan called Chief Adviser Yunus to provide an update on Hadi’s medical treatment, informing him that his situation was extremely critical.
“The Chief Adviser has urged the nation to remain calm and requested everyone to pray for Hadi,” said the post.
Hadi, an aspiring independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot on December 12 in Dhaka’s Paltan area.
He initially received treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital before being transferred to Evercare Hospital the same night. For advanced medical care, Hadi was flown to Singapore by air ambulance on December 15.
