Morning Live’s Helen Skelton says ‘bye’ as she disappears off-screen in awkward moment

Presenter Helen disappeared from the screen after she and co-host Gethin Jones had a confusing chat about Brussels sprouts
Helen Skelton jokingly walked off set after an awkward moment as she told viewers what to expect on Morning Live.
Friday’s instalment of BBC Breakfast (December 19) cut to Morning Live’s Helen and her co-host Gethin Jones, so the pair could share what they had coming up on their BBC show.
As they informed viewers of the day’s topic, they discussed Brussels sprouts and how to prepare and eat them. However, there was some confusion over the word “raw”, with Helen appearing to think that Gethin thought they were using the word “roar”.
After they had straightened it out, Helen jokingly walked off set, leaving Gethin standing alone with a puzzled expression on his face.

The presenters informed viewers about what they had lined up and revealed that they would be discussing the divisive Christmas dinner vegetable.
“It wouldn’t be Christmas without sprouts,” said Helen. “But with millions of haters out there, we are attempting to change some minds.”
“We’ll, keep banging this drum,” she said. “It involves secret herbs, spices. We are going to elevate your sprouts. I believe you will be convinced.”
Back in the BBC Breakfast studio, host Naga Munchetty asked them: “Are you two not in the sprouts camp, then?”
Helen said that they were both “sprout lovers,” but Gethin noted that millions of people didn’t like them.
“What about you?” he asked Naga.

The TV star said she was a fan of the vegetable, asking: “Have you tried raw sprouts? I tried my first sprout raw today.” She added that it was “really nice”.
“Your sprout what?” Gethin replied, apparently not having heard what Naga was saying.
Helen then cleared it up and demonstrated eating something raw as opposed to roaring. Acknowledging what Helen was saying, Gethin gave a little roar, leaving her looking a bit confused.

The move left Naga and her fellow presenter Charlie Stayt laughing, with Naga noting: “Gethin is still there!”
“I think he’s just standing there for a while longer,” said Charlie.
