‘I tested out the pram that Sophie Habboo, Michelle Keegan and Molly-Mae all chose’

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have been spotted out and about with their baby boy Ziggy, and they’ve picked a popular pram choice that’s a celeb favourite

Purchasing a pram for your newborn is a significant decision – and expense – to make, and if you’ve ever strolled through the nursery department of John Lewis, for instance, you’ll know just how much choice there is. Well, here’s one popular model that’s becoming the buggy of choice for many celebrities, including new parents Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo.

The pair welcomed their baby boy Ziggy earlier this month, and have been seen out and about with him in the iCandy Peach 7 in black – a luxury buggy that’s been dubbed ‘the Ferrari of the pram world’, and which both Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright and Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury also chose for their little ones. Available in eight different colours, the Peach 7 Black Pushchair and Carrycot costs £1,149 for the single model – however, it’s currently cheaper to buy this bundle with accessories, which is currently reduced from £1,249 to £999.

As someone who is expecting a baby soon myself, and equally overwhelmed by the choice of prams available, I’ve been testing out the iCandy Peach 7 ahead of my baby arriving – and I can see why it’s such a hit…

Sophie Habboo and husband Jamie Laing have been spotted pushing baby Ziggy in this pram

Firstly, I must say it looks incredibly stylish. The design is sleek and contemporary in all colours, giving it a real luxury feel.

However, the standout feature for me is how smoothly it ‘drives’ compared to others – it’s so effortless to push and manoeuvre, even when loaded with items (or indeed, a baby in the future), thanks to its lovely bouncy suspension. The ‘Ferrari’ comparison certainly seems apt, reports the Mirror.

It’s also very straightforward to dismantle and fold up, even for pram novices like myself: simply detach the carrycot, lower the handle to its minimum height, then with one swift, firm action, press the button on the handle and push it downwards; the buggy will fold in on itself and can be carried by the strap (it’s not the lightest due to its bouncy wheels, but definitely manageable). All of this can be done single-handedly, and it’s super easy.

This luxe pram is loved by celebs including Sophie Habboo, Michelle Keegan and Molly-Mae Hague.

Looks great; very easy to push and steer; great suspension; easy one-handed fold-down mechanism, bundle with accessories is good value; safe and comfy for the baby.

Tricky to initially build; requires clip-in extenders

One drawback we discovered, however, was that assembly was a bit tricky. My partner usually enjoys a DIY home build, but even he had a few choice words while trying to put together the carrycot. The instructions weren’t particularly clear, so having a YouTube tutorial handy could make the process easier.

Another point to bear in mind is that if you’re tall, you’ll need to attach extenders on either side to raise the carrycot to a suitable height; these also need to be removed before you dismantle and fold it up. This is a quick and simple step, but not something we’d encountered with other prams we’d tested.

It’s also Michelle Keegan’s buggy of choice(Image: iCandy)

However, as new – and fairly clueless – parents, we’ve both been super impressed by the iCandy Peach 7, and feel confident that our baby will be safe and comfortable in it, and our journeys made as convenient as possible. If you’re tempted too, I’d really recommend buying the bundle at the moment, which also gets you accessories such as a cup holder, changing bag, umbrella and sleeping bag, or the bundle that includes all this plus the ISOFIX car seat; they’re much better value overall.

If instead you’re after a smaller buggy – perhaps for travelling or if you live in a city – the Joolz Aer2 Pushchair is really lightly and aeroplane-friendly (and comes basically ready assembled!).

If the price of the iCandy is too steep, Ickle Bubba’s Stomp Luxe 12 Piece Travel System with i-Size Stratus Car Seat and ISOFIX Base comes in a brown colourway and will currently set you back £499.
