Canva Down For Indian Users Amid Diwali Fervor Triggering Memefest On X; Here’s What Happened

Online graphic design service Canva is down for users across the globe, affecting projects, last-minute presentations, and most of all Diwali greetings for the non-Photoshop users in India. DownDetector witnessed a spike in users reporting downtime. Reacting to the mayhem, the company took to X/Twitter and stated the following:
Not the ideal situation right now, but we’re working on it. You can check http://canvastatus.com for updates. We’ll keep you posted!
The social media account of Canva also responded to several users under its tweet, reiterating that “Canva is down at the moment. It’s not the experience we want for you, and we’re doing everything we can to get things back on track. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to bring things back to normal.”
It reassured users with project deadlines, remarking, “We’ll make it through this. We’re working on a fix and we’ll keep you posted.” To one user the company stated, “We understand where you’re coming from. Jess. We’re working double-time so you can get back to designing again.”
As India is soaked in the festive fervor of Diwali, it is a nightmare for social media managers and lay users who rely on the online tool for all of their graphic requirements. One desi user shared their frustration, stating,
“It’s Diwali and you messed up. We love you; please do something.”
The company responded, “We understand. We’re working hard to resolve this.”

There are no further updates by the company as of yet; however, the underlying issue is reportedly likely due to an AWS outage. Amazon Web Services is down, and so are all the services that rely on it, including Preplexity, Snapchat, Fortnite, McDonald’s, and Roblox, among others.
