German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has called on US President Donald Trump to increase pressure on Russian leader Vladimir Putin to end Russia’s war against Ukraine after his successful mediation in the war in the Gaza Strip.

Details: Speaking at a meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart Georgi Georgiev in Sofia, Wadephul said that Trump had “made a decisive contribution to the Gaza Strip agreement”.

“And Germany urges him to continue his efforts to bring about talks between Russia and Ukraine,” he added.
The minister stated that the German government has “high expectations of the American administration, as President Trump has made it clear that he is interested in working towards peace agreements in various parts of the world”.
Wadephul added that “it is worth every effort to make a new start in Ukraine now, before large-scale hostilities break out there again.”
