Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts were left absolutely livid after a spoiler emerged online, exposing the ‘biggest shock of the series so far’.

Viewers were utterly stunned by which pair found themselves in the bottom two and were further heartbroken by the couple the Strictly Come Dancing judges ultimately eliminated.

It was Icon’s Week on the BBC dancing programme, which witnessed some dramatic makeovers including Emmerdale’s Lewis Cope channelling Johnny Cash for a country-themed quickstep. Meanwhile, actress Alex Kingston transformed into country icon Dolly Parton and EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal took on the persona of Beyoncé.

The results are scheduled to broadcast on Sunday evening – though, supporters will know it’s actually recorded shortly following Saturday’s live performance, meaning outcomes frequently surface online on Saturday night.

Following Saturday’s programme, it was disclosed that Anton Du Beke would cast the decisive vote regarding who would escape the feared dance-off.

Whilst WalesOnline has chosen not to reveal the spoiler, fans have already begun responding online to the leaked elimination information.

One commented: “Scores all over the place tonight!” A second contributed: “Biggest shock of series so far.”

Devastated, another supporter posted: “Nooooooooo!” accompanied by a broken-hearted emoji, whilst another raged: “Why is it always my faves in the dance off?”

Another remained unimpressed with the bottom two from the outset, asserting that it all ‘smells of a fix’ in the first place. The dance-off came as a shock after an evening filled with drama and unexpected moments on the dance show, reports the Mirror.

“I was not expecting that result,” one fan admitted, while another said: “One of the worst spoilers I’ve ever seen.”

Girls Aloud’s Cheryl made a rare television appearance via video message to congratulate fellow Geordie, Vicky Pattison, on her performance set to Cheryl’s hit song, Fight For This Love.

Cheryl expressed: “First of all I wanted to say congratulations on your success so far, I’m honoured and humbled to be your chosen icon for this week. I know you’ve got it in you because you’re a Geordie, so go out there and fight for your place!”

Lewis and Katya led the scoreboard with a total of 34 points, while Vicky and Kai Widdrington were tied in second place with musical theatre star Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, each scoring 33.

Reflecting on his experience on the show last week, Chris confessed to Tess: “I’ve loved it. I’ve had an amazing partner. For me, coming onto this journey, I had no confidence.

“To be told I had world class qualities on the dance floor today, even though we have to go home, that’s amazing to hear so thank you very much. It’s given me such confidence.”

Chris then added: “To my partner Nadiya, I’m sorry. But it’s been an amazing journey, she’s been a brilliant teacher, I’ve developed so much, and it’s been a great ride – so thank you.”

Meanwhile, Nadiya praised the star, admitting: “I saw all the qualities that made you the captain of your country. To watch you [go] from a non-dancer and non-performer [to then] blossom, improve and develop. Sometimes on this show you win by getting a glitterball, but I feel this year I won just getting you as my partner.”

If Shirley still had the deciding vote power, the EastEnders star would have become the next contestant to leave the show at that time.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results airs tonight at 7.15pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
