Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is Former First Lady of Ghana

Former First Lady of Ghana, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has reportedly been admitted to the Ridge Hospital in Accra, where she is receiving medical treatment following a prolonged illness.

According to reports, Agyeman-Rawlings has been unwell for some time and is currently under close medical supervision.

Details regarding her condition remain unclear, as both her family and hospital authorities have yet to issue an official statement on her health status.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, served as Ghana’s First Lady from 1981 to 2001.

She is the founder and leader of the National Democratic Party (NDP) and also established the 31st December Women’s Movement (DWM) in 1982. The movement was created to empower women in Ghana through initiatives promoting entrepreneurship, education, and political participation.

She was part of the dignitaries who laid wreaths at the Forecourt of the Jubilee House to honour the eight public servants who recently lost their lives in a helicopter accident.

Her last public appearance was on September 18, 2025, when she was accompanied by her children to the final funeral rites of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
