A pair of Blue Jays legends will be in Toronto to celebrate the team’s appearance in the World Series.

Gaston managed the Blue Jays from 1989 to 1997, leading Toronto to back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993. He then returned as manager from 2008 to 2010.

He holds the franchise record in wins by a manager (894) and his 12 years are the longest tenure of any manager in Jays history.

Carter played for the Blue Jays from 1991 to 1997 and hit one of the biggest home runs in baseball history in Game 6 of the 1993 Fall Classic, going deep off Philadelphia Phillies closer Mitch Williams to walk-off the World Series.

Carter is fifth all-time in home runs as a Blue Jay (203) and runs batted in (736).

Trey Yesavage will get the ball for the Jays in Game 1 Friday night against left-hander Blake Snell for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
