Why Georgia football commit Jared Curtis of Nashville Christian was at Vanderbilt practice

Vanderbilt football got an opportunity to show itself off to Nashville Christian five-star quarterback and Georgia commit Jared Curtis this week.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound senior attended Vanderbilt’s practice on Oct. 22 with Nashville Christian coach Jeff Brothers, Brothers confirmed to The Tennessean. It was part of Nashville Christian’s “senior shadow day” assignment where students choose a profession to shadow. Brothers is a former Vanderbilt quarterback.
Curtis also hopes to attend Vanderbilt’s Oct. 25 game against Missouri “as a fan,” according to his agent, Peter Webb of QB Reps. ESPN’s “College Gameday” will be in Nashville for the game.
Curtis is the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class and No. 4 overall player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite. He remains committed to Georgia and plans to enroll in January.
He has thrown for 1,243 yards, 20 touchdowns and four interceptions this season, while missing a little over two games with an ankle injury. He has rushed for 225 yards and four TDs.
Curtis is eyeing the TSSAA all-time career passing TD record (131) set by CAK’s Charlie High in 2012. Curtis is 19 short from tying the mark and could have as many as five games left to get there if Nashville Christian reaches the DII-A final.
Nashville Christian (8-0, 4-0 DII-A Middle Region) hosts Ezell-Harding (5-3, 2-2) on Oct. 24.
