Igor Thiago says striker Liverpool signed for £25m was even better than Didier Drogba

Liverpool have had some of the best strikers in the world throughout their history.

The Reds are the most successful club in English football and one of the biggest clubs in the world, with a key reason for this being due to their style of play.

Liverpool have always been synonymous with free-flowing, attacking football, with this being one of the biggest factors behind their success.

They have also had their fair share of clinical strikers who have made the lives of their teammates much easier due to just how many goals they scored.

In fact, Brentford striker Igor Thiago believes one in particular was once one of the best in the world, even better than prime Didier Drogba.

Igor Thiago believes Luis Suarez was better than Didier Drogba

If Reds fans were asked to think of iconic Liverpool strikers over recent years, most of their minds will instantly go to Luis Suarez, and rightly so.

The Uruguayan may not have been the most liked player in the world, but there was certainly no doubting his ability on a football pitch.

He could score all types of goals and was as clinical as they come, with the former Red regarded as one of the best to grace the Premier League.

Igor Thiago at Brentford agrees too, with the £30m man picking Suarez over Drogba as part of a TikTok trend.

In the ‘winner stays on’ trend, though, Suarez did not stay on for long as Thiago picked Thierry Henry over him in the next pick, although it is hard to argue against it.

But with Drogba a powerful striker who used to bully Premier League defences week after week, it shows just how good Suarez really was.

Luis Suarez has a very impressive record at Liverpool

Suarez has a simply phenomenal record almost anywhere he has gone, but his record at Liverpool shows exactly why Reds fans loved him.

He played 133 times for the club, scoring 82 goals and assisting a further 32, proving how he had everything to his game.

He could also score with his left foot, right foot and his head, as well as finding the back of the net from any part of the pitch, including the halfway line.

The Premier League has not really had a similar striker since, showing that he is one-of-a-kind, with Drogba simply just not as good.
