Helen is set to appear on Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening
Soap star Helen Flanagan has made a frank confession about gameshows, admitting “they’re not my strong point” after a recent embarrassing mistake.
The ex-Coronation Street actress, 35, features on Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening this evening (November 8) with her mother Julia.
The pair will be accompanied by other celebrity faces including Robbie Savage and his son Charlie, plus Tayce and her father Qariem Radix, as they take part in the comedy quiz programme.
Romesh joins forces once more with his entertaining score-tracking mother, Shanthi, whilst the parents put their children’s general knowledge to the test.
The popular prime-time programme features parents selecting which questions their offspring will tackle and wagering on how many correct answers they can achieve.

Should the participants live up to expectations they’ll claim the prize money, but if they fall below the mark, the winnings get divided among the remaining teams.
Before her television appearance, the performer acknowledged that game shows “are not my strong point” whilst revealing her mother won’t be making further TV appearances, stating it’s “not her cup of tea”.
This follows Helen’s recent embarrassing mistake during her stint on the celebrity edition of The Weakest Link, which Romesh Ranganathan also presents.
At the time, Romesh asked her to identify which month matched a Top Gear presenter’s surname, the former soap actress took an uncomfortably lengthy pause whilst working out the response.

In an exclusive chat with MEN publisher Reach Plc, in partnership with WhichBingo, the celebrity shared insights about her forthcoming appearance on Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening.
She expressed: “It was really fun. And I love Ramesh. I think Ramesh is hilarious. And obviously he does like the show with his mum and stuff.”
In a moment of honesty, she confessed: “I mean, I wouldn’t say that game shows are actually my strong point. I did the Weakest Link – I think it was, like, a few months ago, but it’s all fun and it’s a laugh.
“And that was with Ramesh as well. I feel like Ramesh is a guy and, yeah, I think he’s like a great presenter, isn’t he? But, yeah, he’s so funny.”
The star further added: “They’re not really my strong point. But, yeah, they’re a laugh.”

Helen then disclosed the genuine reason she would never appear on TV with her mum again, explaining: “I don’t feel like she really likes being in the spotlight. I asked her to go and then she did. But, yeah, no, I don’t think it’s like her cup of tea, really.”
The actress, who has three children with her former footballer fiancé Scott Sinclair, is not enthusiastic about the idea of her kids following in her footsteps into the limelight, admitting “I’m protective”.
She stated: “I think as a mum, obviously, you’re very protective. I feel so grateful and I’ve had so many amazing opportunities that are incredible in my life.
“But I kind of feel like with my own kids, I don’t know, you’re just a little bit more protective. I just kind of obviously just want your kids to be happy.”
Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening airs tonight (Saturday 8) on ITV1 and ITVX.
