Nashville restaurant selected as ESPN College GameDay’s Guest Chef

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Pancake Pantry was selected as ESPN’s College GameDay guest chef for Saturday’s Vanderbilt game against Missouri.

The 64-year-old Nashville staple will serve a tower of pancakes, Goolsby sausages, country fried steak, candied bacon, and more to the anchors during the telecast.

The restaurant will also serve pet-friendly pancakes for Peter, Mitch, and Beau in addition to a doggy bag for Theo, according to the media release.

“We’re thrilled to bring a taste of Nashville to ESPN ‘s College GameDay,” said Chip Bradley, managing director of The Pancake Pantry, in a media release. “Locals know how special the Pancake Pantry is, and we’re excited to share it with college football fans across the country.”

The Pancake Pantry has been serving stacks of scratch-made pancakes since 1961. The restaurant has over 20 varieties of pancakes, including Taylor Swift’s favorite, sweet potato pancakes, the restaurant said.

The Pancake Pantry said it is a proud partner of Vanderbilt Athletics and regularly hosts pop-up pancake breakfasts for staff and coaches.

The restaurant is also a go-to host for athletic recruits for breakfast.

During Vanderbilt women’s basketball games, Pancake Pantry T-shirts are tossed into the crowd of Tees for Threes.
