Denzel Boston’s NFL Draft Potential

Denzel Boston isn’t quite in the first or second tier of WR prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft, but he’s still a fringe first-round prospect on my board who could see his name called within the Top 50 picks.

After two quiet years to kick off his career at Washington, Boston broke out in 2024 with 63 catches for 834 yards and nine touchdowns. Thus far in 2025, he’s picked up where he left off; he has a solid 77.4 PFSN CFB WRi grade, and he’s on pace for over 1,000 yards and double-digit scores.

At 6’4″, 209 pounds, Boston fits the mold of a traditional X-receiver with his size, length, and lean mass, but he can also be utilized as a movement-Z receiver on motions and designed touches. In 2025, his specialty has been working vertically, where he can use his long speed, body control, catch-point positioning, and vice-grip hand strength to overwhelm smaller defensive backs.

Boston has the ability to separate for his size as well, but he’s a different type of separator than other big-bodied WRs like Tate and Bell. Less of a slasher and more of a glider, Boston uses explosive stems and fluid hips to leave defenders grasping on double moves and bends. He’s also shown he can make himself available on quick slants with rapid releases and acute angle breaks, and he can box out defenders crashing down over the middle.

Even with his elite hand strength, Boston can be prone to occasional focus drops, and slight lapses in hip sink draw his ultimate separation upside into question.

He’s also underwhelmed as a RAC weapon in 2025 after showing promise in 2024, and his tall running style might detract from his leverage in contact situations. Nevertheless, he remains a well-versed WR prospect with vertical ability, catch-point proficiency, and a fluid separation style that should translate in a high-end WR2 role.

Where Is Boston Being Selected Most Often in the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator?

Boston currently holds the No. 28 overall rank among prospects, placing him among the first-round caliber prospects. His most recent Average Draft Position (ADP) of 28.5 as of October 13 reflects that he is typically being selected in the first round.

This suggests he’s consistently valued among evaluators, even amid fluctuations in player evaluations at this stage of the draft cycle.

Users controlling the Buffalo Bills have been the team that selected Boston the most frequently over the past week, accounting for 3.2% of their picks across all seven rounds. Notably, 10.8% of the Buffalo Bills’ first-round selections over that same period were used on Boston, underscoring users’ strong preference for him as a potential immediate-impact wide receiver.
