Blue Jays’ Scherzer to start Game 3, Bieber in Game 4

Max Scherzer will get the ball for Game 3 of the World Series in Los Angeles on Monday night against the Dodgers.

Shane Bieber will start Game 4 on Tuesday.

The Blue Jays made the announcement Saturday afternoon ahead of Game 2 at Rogers Centre.

After struggling down the stretch of the regular season, the 41-year-old Scherzer put together a great performance during his lone postseason start in October, allowing two runs on three hits over 5.2 innings of work in Toronto’s 8-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series.

Bieber, 30, has started three games in the 2025 postseason, including Game 7 of the ALCS. He’s posted a 4.38 ERA, allowing six earned runs and 16 hits alongside 15 strikeouts over 12.1 innings of work.

The Blue Jays took Game 1 of the World Series by a score of 11-4 on Friday.
