THE long-awaited cinema release of Greg Cruttwell’s feature documentary Going To The Dogs has been announced for Friday, November 7.
Cruttwell’s production company Park The Bus is behind the balanced film which examines UK greyhound racing through class, culture, community and the dogs themselves.
In many months of filming and editing, which included following Liz and Rab McNair with their 2023 Derby favourite Fromposttopillar and a behind-the-scenes look at Kevin Hutton’s Burford base, Cruttwell – who produced and directed – explores greyhound racing’s place in the modern world and provides a platform for the voices of those both for and against the sport.
Cruttwell said: “Park The Bus are delighted to be releasing our latest feature documentary Going To The Dogs which lifts the lid to look inside the controversial world of greyhound racing, a sport for the working classes, which for much of the 20th century was the second most popular in the UK.
“It takes an in-depth look at its history, how it works, the people within it, the issues surrounding it [of which there are many] and whether it has a future in the world we live in today.”
