Trigger Point season 3 cast: Meet the returning and new characters plus the actors who play them
After nearly two years away, Jed Mercurio’s Trigger Point season three is finally returning to our screens tonight (26 October), promising just as many tense, emotional and shocking scenes as the last two seasons, as Lana and the rest of the EXPO team face a new threat.
This season the Bomb Disposal Squad and the Police Counter Terrorism Unit are working together to investigate a bomb threat which is soon revealed to be the work of someone with a serious grudge and vendetta, intent on revenge.
Vicky McClure returns as series lead Lana Washington, who is finally feeling the impact of the last two series’ worth of trauma, alongside the rest of the cast and this season we’ve got some brand new faces. Here’s everything you need to know about the cast of Trigger Point season three.

Vicky McClure as Lana Washington

Who is Lana Washington?: Lana is the series’ lead character and is a explosive ordnance disposal specialist. This season find her struggling with the events of the last two seasons, with actor Vicky McClure who plays Lana explaining, “She’s not coping. Lana is a strong person, and she likes to see herself as a perfectionist, but I think we very quickly see that’s starting to crumble. We know from the previous two series that she has experienced a lot of loss, which was always going to catch up with her eventually, and this is the start of it.”
What else has Vicky McClure been in?: Vicky is perhaps best known for her roles in This Is England as Lol and in Line of Duty as Kate Fleming. She’s also had prominent roles in Broadchurch, Alex Rider, Without Sin and Action Team.
Kerry Godliman as Sonya Reeves

Who is Sonya Reeves?: Sonya works at the Bomb Data Centre and is a close friend of Lana’s.
What else has Kerry Godliman been in?: Kerry has been on our screens since the late 90’s and is perhaps best known for her work with Ricky Gervais, having starred in Derek and Afterlife. More recently she’s been on TV in projects such as Our Girl, Bad Move and Adult Material and in movies including We Live in Time.
Nabil Elouahabi as Hass Rahim

Who is Hass Rahim?: Hass is part of Lana’s team and took over her role as leader during her leave of absence early on in the show. Now in season three they’re side by side and Nabil who plays Hass, says Hass is now like an “older uncle figure” to Lana.
What else has Nabil Elouahabi been in?: Over the years Nabil has starred in many thriller like series including Our Girl, Blue Lights and Top Boy. He’s also had roles in movies including The Outrun, Desert Warrior, Hoard and The Sum of All Fears.
Eric Shango as Danny

Who is Danny?: Danny is another member of the team and at the start of this season we find out he has just gotten married, which Eric Shango reveals as shifted Danny’s focus. “He’s no longer thinking exclusively about his own wellbeing, instead he’s thinking about his wife and how his job could affect her,” he said.
What else has Eric Shango been in?: Eric is best known for playing Danny in Trigger Point. Outside of the show he’s also appeared in On the Edge and Suspicion.
Natalie Simpson as DS Helen Morgan

Who is DS Helen Morgan?: Helen was a new character for season two and works as a detective in the Met Police. At the start of season three she’s dealing with her grief for Thom who died in season two. However’s she determined not to let it impact her work.
What else has Natalie Simpson been in?: As well as her role in Trigger Point, Natalie is also well known for starring in the TV mini series of Les Miserables and as Phaedre in Outlander.
Maanuv Thiara as DCI Amar Batra

Who is DCI Amar Batra?: Amar has gotten a promotion for season three, after previously being a DI, and with a new title comes more responsibility for Amar. Maanuv who plays him says of Amar’s journey this season: “He’s a very good detective because he’s a details guy, but he’s not used to being in charge, and he’s not necessarily equipped to come head-to-head with such a strong personality as Lana.” Good luck Amar!
What else has Maanuv Thiara been in?: Maanuv also appeared in the TV series Landscapers, Prime Target and DI Ray, as well as the movie The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
The new cast for Trigger Point season 3
Mark Rowley as Rich Manning

Who is Rich Manning?: Rich is a new character for season three and is a new member of the team working with Lana.
What else has Mark Rowley been in?: Mark is best known for his role in the series The Last Kingdom on Netflix. He’s also had roles in the TV series One Day, SAS: Rogue Heroes, and the movie The Eye.
Jason Flemyng as Steven Wyles

Who is Steven Wyles?: Steven is a mysterious new character for the third season of Trigger Point, with Jason Flemyng who plays him describing Steven as “a union boy, a working class lad, who just decides that the world has let him down”, who could also be described as a mix between “Hannibal Lecter and Che Guevara”.
What else has Jason Flemyng been in?: Jason is best known for his work in the Guy Ritchie movies Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and Snatch. He’s also had prominent roles in Kick-Ass, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Stardust, and X-Men: First Class. Most recently you’ll have seen him on your screens in the movie My Fault London and in the TV series Prime Suspect.
