Milwaukee Bucks update the injury status of starting guard Kevin Porter Jr.

Middleton on how it feels to be back since his trade to Washington
Former Milwaukee Buck and current Washington Wizards forward Khris Middleton on how it feels to be back for the first time as a member of another team
TORONTO – The Milwaukee Bucks ruled out starting point guard Kevin Porter Jr. for their next two games in Toronto (Oct. 24) and in Cleveland (Oct. 26) after he suffered a sprained left ankle in their season opener.
Late in the first quarter in the Bucks’ 133-120 victory over the Washington Wizards on Oct. 22, Porter stepped on teammate Bobby Portis Jr.’s foot, rolling his left ankle. Porter was in clear pain and stayed down on the court for a bit before finally getting up and gingerly walking off the court.
Porter underwent an MRI on Oct. 23, but the Bucks did not disclose the grade, or severity, of the sprain.
Porter started strong for the Bucks, scoring 10 points and handing out two assists in just nine minutes before his injury.
Ryan Rollins likely to get extended look
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers had said the team doesn’t really have traditional “point guards” due to the various heights, wingspan and skill sets of the team’s guard. But, Porter held that role and off the bench it falls to 23-year-old Ryan Rollins.
Rollins played a team-high 29 minutes for the Bucks against Washington (along with Myles Turner) but had an uneven offensive performance with a 2-for-9 effort from the floor. Rollins did have four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Veteran Cole Anthony played 12 minutes in his Bucks debut and scored nine points.
“Just being solid. With Cole and Ryan, it really puts us in a pinch, like they can’t get in foul trouble now,” Rivers said. “So obviously this is a tough injury for us, especially this early.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo has toe injury
Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo began the season with lower back soreness, which Rivers said Antetokounmpo had been dealing with for a few days before taking on the Wizards. Then, Antetokounmpo fell hard on his right hand and wrist in the fourth quarter due to a flagrant foul by Washington’s Bub Carrington.
Antetokounmpo was not on the injury report for those issues but rather a sprain in his left big toe. Antetokounmpo is listed as probable to play Oct. 24 in Toronto.
